Description:

Intrepid Solutions and Services, Inc. is actively seeking an experienced Configuration Manager to lead project CM efforts for the Defense Cross Domain Analytic Capability (DCAC), a system under development with an operational prototype in Fort Belvoir, VA.

The position requires a Top Secret/SCI cleared individual with a good systems management background to join a team developing the next generation solution, while sustaining and managing DoD's first cross domain database implementation on Solaris 10TX and Linux servers, and Cisco network devices.

Duties involve taking over the Configuration Management of the system, developing tools to strengthen appropriate CM processes and technical leadership of the Project Configuration Control Board; including maintaining meeting minutes, cataloguing configuration change requests. In addition the CM lead will guide actions to ensure system changes are fully traceable and ensure project configuration appropriate for a large DoD program. Duties will also include implementing a suite of tools for the coming systems integration phase and refining processes to ensure the software and system configurations are maintained in a dynamic geographically dispersed development, test and operational suites. In addition, duties involve accessing the system to ensure secure operations, monitoring system activity to ensure compliance with policy and perform and configuration audit inspections.

In addition, the Configuration Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining the integrity of work products throughout the project's life cycle using configuration identification, change/version control, status accounting, and baseline audits. These activities involve identifying the configurations of the project work products at given points in time, systematically controlling changes to the configurations, and maintaining the identity and traceability of the configurations throughout the life cycle.

Duties:

•Implement and maintain CM plan(s), procedures and schedules.
•Organize and lead all CM activities--configuration identification, baseline management, release management, change control, status accounting, and configuration audits.
•Must possess a broad understanding of configuration management for hardware and software.
•Track changes to various types of configuration items to include hardware and software components and documents.
•Responsible for the data center and user devices.
•Writing CM policies for hardware and software.
•Supervise version control in a common repository(s) to manage and control all developed code (build process), software products and software.
•Ensure quality software builds by the technical staff through defined processes and procedures.
•Maintain and administer the change tracking and version control systems.
•Ensure changes to configuration items (CIs) are approved and processed so that the integrity of the product baselines is maintained throughout the development life cycle.
•Serve as a member on the project's Configuration Control Board, coordinating, scheduling, and facilitate meetings; and draft agendas and meet minutes.
•Participate in project management reviews.
•Collect, record, update, and report on CI data.
•Review and update project documentation, i.e., plans, schedules, release configuration items.
•Maintain a CM library for storage and control of configuration items in either electronic or physical form.
•Train project staff on CM processes, procedures, and tools. Qualifications Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience and minimum of three years of configuration management experience in a development environment is required including experience operating an effective CM system (processes and tools) for secure government systems.

Duties include local travel to and managing development and test suites in Alexandria and Reston, VA.

Qualifications:

•Self-starter with the ability to work independently, including organizing and prioritizing workload.
•Ability to work in a highly matrixed, fast-paced, rapidly changing environment with little direction.
•Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
•Good analytical, problem solving, training, and facilitation skills.
•Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain CM processes and procedures.
•Demonstrated ability to manage baseline libraries.
•Demonstrated ability to perform and/or manage software builds.
•Hands-on experience with all phases of the SDLC.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven interpersonal skills.

IT
•Strong CM technology and process skills; defect track and requirements technology skills; and CM audit skills.
•Familiarity with Federal Government CM guidelines and standards preferred.
•Proficiency in the use of MS applications-Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Access (sufficient to create databases, simple queries and reports), and Visio (sufficient to create process diagrams), Internet Explorer.

The candidate should have a foundation understanding of ITIL.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
•Knowledge of Federal Government Configuration Management standards and directives.
•Plus would also be experience with management of Unix systems and Cisco network devices.

Possession of an ACTIVE TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance with a Special Clearance Investigation is required to begin employment; US Citizenship is required.
