| Drives truck or automobile, promoting the company by delivering complete, accurate and on-time deliveries to the company’s customers. Driver will represent the company in a highly professional, safe and cost effective manner that complies with DOT and other applicable regulations. Proficiency in basic order entry and warehouse shipping/receiving functions is required in addition to rendering outstanding customer service, by performing the following duties. |
Duties: |
Provide "Extra Mile Customer Service" to our chosen customers. Load truck, securing items and verifying accuracy. Drive truck to deliver materials to customer's home, job site or place of business.
Collect payment from customer for COD orders and record transactions on customer receipt.
Bring back customer orders, instructions and communicate them to the Supervisor.
Record delivery information on required records, in a written or computer format as required, notifying the Supervisor of any discrepancies.
Bring back information on prospective customers to solicit for new business.
Inform customer of new products, services or specials.
Listen to and resolve service complaints with the help of Supervisor.
Place stock on shelves or racks at the customer’s request.
Collect or pick-up defective or damaged merchandise, with proper paperwork.
Issue or obtain customer signature on receipt, or electronic capture device for pickup.
Clean inside of truck.
Inspect truck before beginning the delivery day, communicate with supervisor on all maintenance or safety issues along with any body damage.
Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to the manager.
Maintain a satisfactory driving record.
Provide assistance in the warehouse by unloading trucks, keeping facility clean, answering phones and assisting customers as directed by the supervisor.
Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment as required.
Maintain proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies as required,
Update job knowledge by learning products and their applications.
Follow company policies and procedures.
Satisfactory performance in any job related duty as assigned by Supervisor or the President of the company.

Qualifications: |
CDL class B License with positive points
Computer Literate
Ability to communicate clearly both in person as well as in writing
At least 6 months experience in a similar position
Previous warehouse inventory experience
Proven track record of delivering great customer service
High School diploma or GED
Map reading skills
Average mathematical sills
Able to regularly move up to 25 lbs., frequently move up to 50 lbs and occasionally move up to 100 lbs.
This position is a split position 1/21 week in Manassas ; the other half in Woodbridge. |
