Inventory Accounting Manager

Currently we are seeking an Inventory Accounting Manager for our Virginia Beach office.

Duties:

• Supervises Inventory Assistant
• Addresses Solution Management-tracking of open transactions within the warehouse
• Works closely with Warehouse Managers and Purchasing Department to resolve issues
• Performs general inventory accounting functions
o Item variance reconciliations
o Consistent evaluation of slow/fast moving items
o Execute the defined cycle-count program, define root cause for errors and provide feedback
o Organize and conduct yearly full physical inventory
o Organize/Run and Audit Physical Inventory counts
o Compile, enter and post adjusting journal entries
o Close inventory periods and resolve all pending transactions
• Assist with daily inventory needs (IE. item transfers, returns, write offs)
• Interact with all ADS departments as necessary
• Reports directly to the Assistant Controller

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Business required. Accounting degree preferred.
• 5-10 years experience in inventory accounting management or analysis
• Analytical skills must be excellent with a strong understanding of inventory processes and their affect on financial and operational performance
• Working knowledge of Inventory systems with multiple locations and cycle counting
• Highly self-motivated with strong leadership skills and cost reduction/efficiency/productivity awareness
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Advanced Excel user)

Desired Qualifications
• Previous inventory accounting and AP experience preferred
• Strong organizational skills coupled with excellent follow-up
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks and work effectively independently or in a team environment
• Experience with Oracle software, Quick Books software, and Discoverer Report Writer a plus
